Starting as a vegan bakery in 2010, Apiecalypse has been a staple at veg fests around the city for years and has won vegan bake-offs numerous times! Their pizza and snack bar at Bloor and Christie serves a wide range of - you guessed it - comfort food classics! This great addition to Toronto’s ever-expanding roster of vegan comfort food restaurants continues to win awards and have huge line-ups at every veg fest!
A vegan bakery that expanded its menu to include sandwiches, poutine, and grain bowls. All vegan and delicious!
Blossom Vegetarian does an all-vegetarian buffet spread that offers meatless versions of Asian favourites. From noodles, to dimsum, to sushi, this place has it all!
Serves plant-based power food in a fast-food setting. Opened it 2017, it is a great new-ish addition to Toronto’s vegan fast food scene.
Vegan restaurant and dessert bar located in Kensington - features in-house made dairy-free soft-serve (serves a rotating selection of over 40 flavours!) and a wall of candy in addition to sweet and savoury menu items and a variety of alcoholic beverages.
A bar that turned 100% vegan in February 2018. Offers free billiards, cards, and darts and is open until really late every night. Menu features veganized bar food.

From the owners of Kupfert and Kim comes a small and delicious vegan restaurant located on Queen Street West. The space formerly occupied by a variety store offers a wide range of creative vegan dishes - this is not “veganized” food, so it may not be enjoyed as much by non-vegans as some other places.
K&K is a restaurant that makes quick, minimally-processed food that is good for humans, animals, and the planet. Almost everything is made in-house, and they get fresh shipments of produce each morning. They have a few locations scattered through the PATH in downtown Toronto, as well as two sit-down spaces in the city. They are also opening a new location in Montreal very soon!
One of Toronto’s first vegan restaurants, Live opened its doors in 2002 and has been serving delicious organic fare ever since. They recently revamped their menu with new and imaginative dishes like smoked carrot “lox” with cashew cream cheese on a bagel and an amazing taro root poutine! Casual space with a garage door at the front that gets opened in the nice weather. Right across the street from Dupont subway station, parking down the block at the LCBO.

The first of three plant-based locations by the Chase Hospitality Group is located at Bay and Bloor in Yorkville. In a beautifully-designed space, they serve upscale vegan food - the portions are, however, quite small, so I suggest ordering larger dishes.
